Why do makeup artists charge an assistant fee and what does it cover?

We call the artists we work with "assistants" however they don't assist in the traditional way. These are professional freelance artists who are giving up their time to help get bridal party members ready.

They must have a similar style to mine so your wedding party has a cohesive look.

The fee goes towards securing an artist who has a minimum booking charge and also their travel.
